Become a MSHV Volunteer

The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is currently seeking volunteers and you can participate in a number of ways. MSHV Volunteer Opportunities Host a fundraiser: MSHV is presently working towards a $1,000,000 expansion, and we need your help! If you have a great fundraising idea and you would like to help support your local veterans please contact us. Whether you're an individual with a passion to serve your community or an organization with a philanthropic arm, hosting a fundraiser can be fun and so very beneficial! Fundraising is MSHV's greatest need at this time, and any help would be greatly appreciated! Interested individuals can have their name added to the volunteer list by clicking here .   Volunteer Driver: This person would drive residents to and/or from appointments. Most of the driving needs are scheduled on Friday for the following week. The time commitment varies depending on destination. Interested individuals can have their name added to the volunteer list by clicking here .   Monthly Dinner: This person would prepare dinner at MSHV for the five residents once a month and have dinner with the residents and staff person. The time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours. For example, a plumber who volunteers to work on the plumbing issues as they come up, or a painter who is willing to paint rooms as needed.
