We have a matching gift for GivingTuesday! Join us Nov 28, 2023 for the Global Day of Giving and help us reach our President's matching gift!

Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is participating in GivingTuesday, the global day of unity and giving. As we work to end veteran homelessness, we continue to be confronted with an increasing demand for our services. In an attempt to meet the growing needs of our veteran families, we are asking our community partners to participate in a matching funds event, sponsored by our Board President, Scott Ziemba and his sister Lori Ziemba. Every dollar contributed on November 28, 2023 will be matched by Scott and Lori – up to $5,000 – for a goal of $10,000 raised in ONE DAY. This is a great opportunity for you to double the impact that you make with our veterans.

Please consider making a contribution at this time when the need is the greatest.

Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us too!

Here’s how you can be a part of the generosity movement:

  1. Give. On November 28, go to https://www.helpaveteran.org/donatenow and give. You can also support our organization in these ways: organize a drive for our Freedom Commissary; sign up to be a volunteer for an advisory panel (Affordable Housing, Planned Giving, and Freedom Commissary) by contacting christinelewis@mshv.org; and/or make a lasting impact at Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans through a variety of estate plan gifts.

  2. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on November 28 by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization. Make sure to use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and tag us so we can share!

Thank you for being a part of the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans team. Together we can empower at-risk veterans, and their families, to become self-sufficient, productive members of their communities.
